OpenHR

1on1

Agendas arrive in Slack the day before, and decisions carry over to the next 1:1

OpenHR finds your 1:1s in the Google Calendar each person connects. The day before, both people get the agenda in a Slack DM, and any topics you didn't get to and unfinished decisions carry over to the next one.

When you need it

  • You come up with the agenda on the spot, every time
  • What you decided last time is forgotten by the next 1:1
  • Notes are scattered per person, so the two of you can't look back together

How it works

How 1on1 topics can inform recruiting draftsOnly the two people in a 1on1 can read its contents. Only when an admin turns on “Use 1:1s for recruiting” for the tenant are topics classified, with names and other details masked. Only categories that came up in 5 or more different pairs are passed on, as counts. Notes, agenda text, people, and pairs are never passed on.1on1 notes and agendaReadable only by the two of themOnly when an admin turns it onOff by default; everyone is notifiedMask names and classify topicsOnly fixed category names are takenOnly categories seen in 5+ pairsAs counts; never notes, people, or pairs

What it does

Finds 1:1s in Google Calendar
Each person connects their own calendar. Events with just two people whose title includes “1on1” (or similar), and recurring meetings between two people, are treated as 1:1s.
A reminder the day before
Once the 1:1 is less than 24 hours away, both people receive the agenda and decisions from last time in a Slack DM — once.
Topics and decisions carry over
Topics and decisions belong to the pair. Topics you didn't discuss and unfinished decisions appear in the next 1:1.
Suggested topics
AI (or rules, when AI isn't available) suggests topics from undiscussed items and last time's notes. Only with the other person's permission does it also use the survey trend of their department.

Our commitments

Only the two of you can read it
Not even tenant admins can read other people's 1:1s.
Used for recruiting only in tenants where an admin turns it on
Used only when a tenant admin turns on “Use 1:1s for recruiting”. It is off by default, and everyone is notified when it is turned on. The AI receives only the names of topic categories that came up in 5 or more 1:1 pairs across the company — never the notes, the agenda text, or who was in which pair. The admin reviews every draft before it is published. Companies with fewer than 15 people cannot turn it on.
